The Red Collection
· The Red Collection is an exclusive edition of 12 works by painter Valerii Buev, each measuring 1 × 1.2 metres, featuring elephants set against bold red backgrounds. While the elephant is a recurring motif throughout Buev's broader body of work, this collection presents it in a distinctly different stylistic treatment: more focused, more deliberate, giving the series its own visual identity within the artist's oeuvre.
Valerii Buev is a member of the Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques, active within the Eastern European and international art scene. He is known for his figurative works with abstract accents, impasto textures, strong contrasts, and expressive palettes, in which the human figure, melancholy, and recurring symbols such as the elephant or the snail merge organically with mechanical elements into an improvised visual world. He paints directly on canvas without preliminary sketches, and his works have been exhibited in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, France, Australia, Romania, and Moldova, and are held in online galleries and private collections. With a recognisable style, clear visual coherence, and a well-defined artistic identity, his works are equally suited to contemporary collections and premium interiors, including boutique hotels and restaurants.
